Blog - Gun Blade Duelists

Gun Blade Duelists is a Fighting Game that pits you in the shoes of a Gunblade Duelist, a competitor in a Combat Sport featuring, well, Gunblades, Swords with guns embedded in them that fire bolts of energy.

The game is Two-Player only, but will eventually have a singleplayer story.

In Two-Player Mode, You and a friend battle each other, simple as that.

In the eventual single player, you play Kotaro, a Duelist who pursues a master duelist arrested for the murder of his master, and has to make it through a tournament to face him in a duel to the death, this mode would have enemies with unique animations and models.

BATTLE

The Game has a battle system that enables you to make combos based on inputs. Your character has three buttons, a Chain attack, Heavy Attack and a Fire attack. A chain attack obviously lets you perform an Infinite flurry of light attacks, but deals no damage against an opponent's guard. A heavy attack counters Guards by breaking them, doing some chip damage. and a ranged attack fires an energy bolt that hits your enemy at range, but can be deflected by a Guard if timed correctly.

Clashes can occur if two attacks collide, and two bolts colliding will cancel out.

There are two versions:

Arcade is the build I'm working on. It will have the bare minimum. A 2P battle mode and a functioning battle system and is meant for a college assessment.

PC is the build I plan to start after Arcade, which enables the use of colours to choose from and an enhanced battle system, A practice mode AND the story mode.

PC mark II, is the updated build that will have an Online Mode.
